Solčava Ridge and Waterfall Loop

Parking

The trailhead sits at the road's end in Logarska dolina. Arriving early at 07:00 means free parking — later in the day the valley charges a 10 € entry fee per car, so an early start pays off in more ways than one.

Rinka Falls

Rinka Falls is a spectacular opening act. At the base, turn left, cross a wooden bridge, and begin the ascent alongside the cascade — the roar of the falls keeps you company as the trail steepens.

Top Of Rinka Falls

A second wooden bridge carries you over the top of the falls, rewarding you with sweeping views back down the entire Logarska dolina valley — a perfect excuse to catch your breath and reach for the camera.

Frischauf Lodge at Okrešelj

Passing Frischauf Lodge at Okrešelj, follow the sign left for Dom na Kamniškem sedlu. The marker warns of a two-and-a-half-hour climb ahead — a useful reality check before the trail gets serious.

Start Of Ferrata

This is where the hike shifts gear. Helmets on — the route tackles a secured via ferrata, with fixed cables guiding you up the rocky face. Take your time and enjoy the exposure; the views only improve with altitude.

Kamniška koča na Kamniškem sedlu

After roughly three hours of hiking, Kamniška koča na Kamniškem sedlu appears on the ridge — a well-earned finish. The hut serves excellent food and cold drinks, and also offers overnight rooms for those who want to linger under the alpine sky.
